Durnstein (dern-sh-tine) / August 22




For the first school outing, they took us to nearby Durnstein. At Durnstein, we all climbed the hill (more like a mountain) to the castle at the top. This castle is supposedly where King Richard III, the Lion Heart was held captive. 




View from the castle. The river in these pictures is the Danube. We saw some of the Viking River Cruise ships on the Danube.



The blue bell tower is the church were we had mass.
